I don’t know how many of you tuned in on Sunday for the first in the new 8-part series of Channel 4’s Chateau DIY: Living the Dream? In this latest format, each week a recognisable chateau (as showcased on the original series of Chateau DIY), sees a full 45 minutes focusing entirely on that particular chateau and on it’s owner(s). The focus for the viewers is to recall the journey they took, the trials and tribulations of the major endeavour, the results and the absolute joy when each
Episode 1 which aired on Sunday, May 21st, followed the charming “Châtelaine” Stephanie Jarvis from Chateau de Lalande as she shared her journey of artful, creative, and demanding renovations. It was fun to relive her Mother Isabelle’s dream wedding day and beautiful reception which was enjoyed at the Chateau chapel and in the gardens.
Episode 1 also reminded us of the amazing transformations made at the Chateau using antique alongside new and recycled materials to recreate bedrooms fit for Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette.
