I spotted this painting of Angel Strawbridge on Facebook and I, like so many others, wondered who the talented artist was. After a bit of research I found the very modest Claire Warbeck who was gracious enough to share her story with me. I’m sure you will all be as bowled over as I am to learn that Claire is a beginner! Claire nailed it!
So allow me to introduce you to artist Claire Warbeck. Here’s what she shared with me:
Claire Warbeck
“I’m 46 years old and live in Scotland with my husband, Dad and four of my five children just 10 miles from the world famous Gretna Green. I have been a beauty therapist for 20 years and specialise in wedding makeup, but sadly due to the global pandemic we all find ourselves in I have been unable to work as all the weddings I was booked for this year have had to be postponed and re-arranged.
So now I have a lot of time on my hands and since the love I had for art at school has never gone away I decided it was time to give it a go again. I was never good at painting and always found I could pencil draw better. I have only been painting for a few months and am learning as I go.
I chose to paint Angel as I have a love of France and I admire her determination and creativity along with her husband Dick to follow their dreams. I have that same determination and love of France and hope one day our dreams come true to live and work there.”
