According to Wikipedia a Château is “a manor house or residence of the lord of the manor or a country house of nobility or genty, with or without fortifications, originally – and still most frequently – in French-speaking regions!”.  For the rest of us, a Château is where we live, and a man’s Château is his home.

With every new Series of Channel 4’s Escape to the Château DIY comes a huge surge of interest in French Château with many people excited – and sufficiently daring – to take on the daunting task of renovating these historic buildings.  However, let’s leave this to the bravehearts and focus more on how we can turn our homes into our own personal Château.

Decorating these beautiful buildings is a VERY romantic notion for all of us Escape to the Château DIY enthusiasts, and Angel’s fantastically creative mind stirs our own create juices to dizzying heights.  So how to go about creating that Château styel in our own home?  Well let’s learn from the experts.  I went on to YouTube and found these:

Suffice it to say there are TONS of YouTube videos out there with so many decorating ideas, you could spend a very happy day just surfing around and come away with so much inspiration.

We’d like to invite you to exhibit your versions of your personal Chateau inspired designs with our readers. Perhaps you’ve used some of Angel Strawbridge’s designs in your home or perhaps you have your own designs or upcycled items (which I personally love) of which you are particularly proud.  Send us photos, we’d love to share them.
