Château de Vaudezert

The Château de Vaudezert can be found close to Juvigny-sous-Andaine in Normandy and lies just 11 mins from the beautiful spa town of Bagnoles de l’Orne and 13 mins from the medieval town of Domfront – lots to see and do right on your doorstep.

The Château is available for a wide variety of special events including corporate retreats, boutique weddings, family special occasions, yoga retreats, wedding anniversaries – you name it Karen will be there to assist you.

The Château’s West Wing offers self-catering accommodation for up to 6 adults and a maximum of 5 children. The unique aspect of Château de Vaudezert is that each bedroom suite offers a separate room for a child or other family traveling with, thus providing privacy for the entire family.  There is 1 double bedroom with a private shower room and in 2020 plans are in place for the brand new wedding suite.

The Charbonnel Suite

This suite has taken its name from the previous owner. It offers a king-size bedroom with two single rooms off (again ideal for a family). Full ensuite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a separate shower.

The Madeleine Suite

This suite is named after the cook who worked here when the Chateau was used for a holiday centre for children. The lovely lady still lives just down the road. ​It too offers a king-size bed with two single rooms off plus a full bathroom.

The Pierre Suite

During the Second World War Pierre lived in our gate house with his family. The current Château owners were lucky enough to meet Pierre and find out a little of his fondly remembered life in Vaudezert. This suite has a king-size bed with one single room off, there is also a futon bed/space for a cot. Again a full ensuite bathroom suite.

Julie’s Room

This room is named after the daughter of the previous owner who loved this particular room.  Suitable for 2 guests, this is not ensuite but offers a private shower room adjacent.

Karen, the Château owner told me that she loves kitchens and you will not be disappointed with the kitchen and the amazing dining room – they are gorgeous. Of course, if self-catering is not your choice, a private chef is available.

The gardens are lovely and guests have the use of an above-ground swimming pool seasonally. With weekly prices starting at £2500 what’s to think about? Easy access from the port of Caen or Cherbourg, beautiful surroundings, comfortable beds, and many historic places on your doorstep why not live the Château life?

Finally, I’d like to share some exciting news. In 2020 the Château de Vaudezert will be available as a wedding venue within their bespoke garden event space, and they are currently renovating their bride and groom guest room which promises to be AMAZING! Book early if you’re contemplating a Château wedding in France next year.  With prices for up to 40 guests from just £3950 why stay in the UK when you can enjoy the joy of France to begin your new lives.
