Losing weight after 60, well it’s hard!  Speaking from personal experience, I had never had issues with extra weight – until I hit 55.  Nothing about my lifestyle had changed but the number on the scales and my waistline certainly had!  I have always been active, a regular gym attendee and have always eaten well and drunk plenty of water.  What, I asked myself, could I do to change the image in the mirror of this person whom I no longer recognized!

I have tried many different diet plans, they work for a while and then the plateau comes, you lose interest and give up.  Then you look for the next solution, spend a little money on the plan, go shopping for the necessary foods . . . enough said.

I am not a nutritionist, so I’ve been doing some research for self help and have come across what I believe to be some sage advice which I would like to share with those of you who can share my plight!  We’ve all read that our bodies become less efficient as we age and our metabolism slows down, (for women in particular after menopause), and we’re not able to eat as much as we used to.
