What could be more British than a cup of tea, and who doesn’t love a proper English High Tea – finger sandwiches, cakes, scones with jam and clotted cream and of course a steaming pot of Earl Grey tea.
I’d like to share what is perhaps a little known fact about the perfect hostess Angel Strawbridge co-owner of the Château de la Motte Husson and star of Escape to the Château DIY. Prior to purchasing the fairytale Château de la Motte Husson in the Pays de la Loire, Angel was the founder of the London based The Vintage Patisserie and the author of 3 vintage cookbooks.
Why not have some fun and host your own High Tea for a select few friends or family? Experiment with Angel Adoree recipes. If you don’t already have a vintage tea service (and you want to create a very elegant table) here’s a beautiful one from Amazon displayed on a gorgeous vintage embroidered tablecloth – and of course, in the wartime era, everyone wore an elegant Fascinator!
For an informal high tea, perhaps with your kids, here’s a very fun and colourful “tea service” and of course a hat.
Send photos, we would love to post your High Tea occasions for others to see and get inspired to host their own! Most of all enjoy your chateau and have fun, life’s too short not to.
