One of the newest château to be featured on Series 3 of Escape the Château DIY is the Château de Saugé located in the Deux Sevres Department of the Poitou Charentes region of France. In Series 3 we met the charming owners of the Château de Saugé who are newcomers to the chateau renovation business but are taking to it like ducks to water.
The couple have been busy renovating a self catering gite (which is open for bookings) and have put the finishing touches to their lovely Vintage Tea Room which had its grand opening earlier this month – after some delays from red tape! Reviews on the tea they serve have been excellent – well sandwiches, scones with jam and cream how could you go wrong?! Why not give it a try and enjoy the Vintage Tearoom during the festive season – or take advantage of the Christmas Wreath Workshop.
As this is a new adventure, the owners are working hard to upgrade all accommodation and common/public areas within the Château for the upcoming event spaces which in 2020 will become an Event Venue offering art lovers weekends, and yoga retreats (click here for dates).
